This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre at the University of Sussex followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Sussex.

This Pre-Masters programme is a preparational course for international students who wish to study one of a range of Masters degrees at the University of Sussex.

The Pre-Masters in Business, Media and Social Sciences, provides a route to a variety of postgraduate degrees at the University of Sussex. On all pathways, students will study a combination of general and specialist modules to improve their knowledge and skills to prepare them for postgraduate study. Students will also study the Skills for Success module to provide them with the employability skills needed to succeed in their career.

International Business Economics MSc

Students will enhance their understanding of international business with the International Business Economics MSc. Students gain a solid grounding in economic theory that explains business behaviour – both at firm-level and within the global macroeconomy.

Students will study microeconomic principles relating to the theories of firms and consumers. Students will also cover macroeconomic principles underpinning national and international economies.

Students will also learn about managerial economics and how firms optimise their human resources. This expands their employment opportunities in the business, management and financial sectors. And students will gain the skills – and have the opportunity – to undertake independent research in an area of business economics.

Studying for the degree, students will gain the confidence to communicate economic ideas and concepts to a wider audience. Students will develop a range of transferable skills that are applicable to the workplace, including:

• report writing • time management • team working • presentation skills • how to interpret data.

On graduation, students will have a firm foundation in business economics. During their studies with the University of Sussex, students will develop into a global citizen, ready to make a difference in the world of work and society more generally.
