Georgian College’s Video and Motion Graphics Production program is a two-year diploma that provides students with the technical skills, creative expertise and knowledge required to create compelling content for social media, video-sharing websites, commercial channels and educational platforms.
Through hands-on and experiential learning, students produce engaging video and motion graphics content that meets current media demands while recognizing the importance of industry regulations, ethical practices and safety protocols. The program covers the entire production process, from conceptualizing and storyboarding ideas to capturing and editing high-quality video and audio and producing professional motion graphics.
Students develop essential skills in lighting, composition, camera control and audio recording. They also explore emerging technologies, including virtual and augmented reality, in preparation for the future of immersive media. Additional areas of study include media production management, maintaining digital archive systems, documenting projects and developing business plans.
The program culminates in a capstone course that allows students to apply their skills by delivering a professional product to potential clients and employers.
