Georgian College - Design and Digital Arts Centre (Barrie Downtown)
Students in this program prepare to assist architects, engineers and other professionals involved in building projects. They develop skills in architectural design while gaining knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, construction technology, sustainability and environmental considerations. The curriculum also includes computer-aided drafting and modelling.
The program aligns with the first four semesters of the Architectural Technology program, allowing graduates to continue into the third year of that program.
The three-year Architectural Technology program may be an alternative option for those seeking additional study. It includes two co-op terms and specialized courses in areas such as construction materials, site planning, contract management and project costing.
This program includes a co-op work term that provides students with experience in a workplace related to their field of study.
