Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Nursing - Adult

The Nursing (Adult) programme at Derby is designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge, and experience required to become compassionate, competent, and confident adult nurses. Approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), the course adheres to the NMC's Future Nurse: Standards of Proficiency for Registered Nurses, ensuring that graduates are fully equipped to meet the demands of the profession.

Throughout the three-year full-time course, students will gain essential practical experience through clinical placements in various healthcare settings, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations. These placements will help students build the confidence and competence needed to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The course also benefits from state-of-the-art university facilities, including clinical skills suites and immersive simulation suites, which allow students to practice in realistic healthcare environments.

Graduates of the programme will be eligible to apply for NMC registration, allowing them to practice as registered adult nurses. The course is available for study at Derby campus (Kedleston Road site) or the Chesterfield site, with intakes in January or September.
