The University of Bristol Law School is a centre for intellectually demanding, research-informed legal education. Bristol aims to produce accomplished, well-rounded and enquiring graduates with a rich, ethically grounded appreciation of law in business and society. In the final year all students produce an extended research project on a topic of their choice. The core and optional units reflect the wide variety of approaches to legal research adopted by the scholars in the Law School. There is also an embedded law clinic programme that enables students to work on real-life cases with professional guidance and support. Please note that the routes to qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales are changing. Based on current information, the changes will likely affect all those commencing their law degrees from September 2021 onwards, if they wish to qualify as a solicitor. The latest information on these changes can be found on the Law School website or on the Solicitors Regulation Authority website. There is currently no indication that the Bar Standards Board (BSB), the body that regulates barristers, will change its academic requirements for qualification as a barrister.
