What you will study
Program Description Build a future by studying in the UK, with a pathway course at Kaplan International College (KIC) London. Situated in the world’s top academic city (QS Best Student Cities 2019), the College will prepare students for a university degree, and for a successful career. Study at one of the most respected international colleges in London, and progress to one of 8 universities, including the University of Bristol. The University of Bristol is a highly ranked Russell Group university with a fantastic reputation. Students will join a global community of students from more than 150 countries, and enjoy life in one of the UK’s most exciting cities. Wherever future career ambitions lie, a management degree from Bristol will encourage students to think critically and creatively about management practice. They will gain an all-round understanding of how organisations and managers operate in a global environment while also developing analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills that are attractive to employers. Students will join a friendly and supportive department with an active student society. They will learn about management practice, organisation theory and the global business environment, as well as specific functions like accounting and marketing. The wide range of optional units means they will be able to personalise their degree to reflect their interests and career ambitions in areas such as strategy, business law, human resource management and finance. Many units contain an international dimension to reflect the global nature of business.
The first year will involve study of international business, accounting, finance, marketing, mathematics and statistics - providing students with a solid foundation on which to build, whichever aspect of management they choose as the focus of their studies. During the second year students develop an understanding of research design, data collection and data analysis, including analysis of survey data, interviews and observation in organisations, in preparation for the final year dissertation. This is a piece of individual research in which students can focus on a topic that stimulates their interest the most.
