What you will study
Environmental issues are a global concern. The MSc program offered by the institution aims to develop critical awareness and advanced knowledge of the concepts and philosophies of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) for students. Students will explore how to utilize GIS data to identify, evaluate, and address geographical and environmental problems.
Throughout the program, students will gain theoretical and practical understanding of GIS concepts, technical issues, and applications using specialized GIS software. They will apply their learning to various environmental management scenarios. Practical components of the course may include developing skills in the lab, gaining proficiency in different software platforms, and engaging in field work for data acquisition. Additionally, students will receive an overview of environmental policies and laws at the international, European, and UK levels.
Students will have the opportunity to learn from a team of expert researchers. Working closely with their supervisor, students will plan, research, and complete their master’s dissertation in an area that aligns with their interests. Optional modules in specific areas of interest are also available for students to choose from.
