What you will study
Students will develop a firm foundation in the theory and practice of policing, while strengthening their skill set through supporting disciplines, such as criminology, the application of ethics and the interpretation of legislation and procedure.
This program delivers a curriculum set by The College of Policing, so students can be sure their learning will be of the highest caliber. University of Cumbria’s dedicated and enthusiastic team come from a wide range of policing backgrounds, and their extensive knowledge is complemented by guest speakers from a variety of policing and criminal justice roles.
In this course students will: • Achieve Qualified Teacher Status upon completion. • Spend at least 24 weeks working with children in school-based placements, both locally and farther afield. • Train to teach children aged 3-11 years, a uniquely broad catchment that gives them a wealth of diverse experience. • Be taught in small groups with lots of opportunities to collaborate with their peers and tutors. • Boost their employability in the education sector by studying an enhancement theme.
