What you will study
The PGCE is a respected qualification with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), providing evidence-based skills for primary classrooms. Graduates can start as qualified primary teachers immediately. PGCE Primary Education with QTS offers January and September intakes, school- or campus-based at Lancaster, Carlisle, and London. The program trains you to deliver engaging primary school lessons. It covers National Curriculum theory and practice, child learning, behavior management, lesson planning, adapting teaching, and focuses on challenging disadvantage and raising aspirations. Over half the course is assessed placements with children plus school enrichment via Intensive Training and Practice (ITAP). Three placements in varied schools build experience and career growth with increasing challenges.
