What you will study
Program Description This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre for the University of Strathclyde followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Strathclyde. In the international foundation year, students will study courses related to their intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance their skills as a student. Advancement into students' intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.
The International Foundation Year in Business & Social Sciences will familiarize students with a wide area of study. They will develop their critical thinking skills, creativity, analytical and team working skills, providing them with the most crucial skills required as a successful graduate.
The University of Strathclyde's finance degree is unique in Scotland in terms of the range and depth of issues covered.
Subjects include the principles of investment and value, business finance and decision-making and the analysis of securities such as bonds and shares.
Employers tell them that they particularly value the range of subject combinations available at Strathclyde, ensuring that their students have an in-depth understanding of a second subject to complement their finance studies.
An undergraduate degree in finance will give students the skills for a career in financial services such as banking, investment management, pension fund management and insurance.
