Bachelor of Science - Biomedical Sciences (BC9R) (Sandwich Year)

The Biomedical Sciences program provides a high degree of flexibility, granting individuals the freedom to shape their academic experience. The degree title remains adaptable until the final year, allowing students to either continue with BSc Biomedical Sciences or switch to another bioscience course offered. Additionally, students have the option to graduate with a more specialized degree title, such as BSc Biomedical Sciences (Anatomy) or BSc Biomedical Sciences (Physiology).

The final degree title is contingent upon the selection of modules, and students will receive guidance from their Personal Tutor regarding the available options. Furthermore, students may have the opportunity to transition to the four-year MBiomed integrated master's degree, which serves as a solid foundation for a future career in scientific research.

As part of this course, the third year is dedicated to a placement at an academic, clinical, or industrial research laboratory, or another approved establishment. This placement presents an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand professional research experience, which has been proven to significantly enhance both the degree and subsequent employment prospects.

While many placements are available within the UK, there has been a notable increase in students opting for international locations, including Southeast Asia, South Africa, Germany, Italy, Australia, Madagascar, and the USA.
