The Healthcare Sciences postgraduate research programme offers students the opportunity to undertake original and independent research aimed at improving healthcare practice and outcomes on a global scale. The programme is designed to support the development of advanced research skills within a multidisciplinary environment, drawing on expertise from a wide range of healthcare professions.
Students are supervised by experienced academics, many of whom have professional backgrounds in areas such as nursing, physiotherapy, radiography, occupational therapy, midwifery, and health psychology. This diverse expertise enables research across various aspects of healthcare, from clinical practice to patient wellbeing and service delivery.
The programme provides a supportive research environment with access to dedicated study spaces and a range of academic development opportunities, including workshops, seminars, and journal clubs. Students are also encouraged to engage with wider training and networking activities through the University’s Doctoral Academy, enhancing both their research capabilities and professional development.
