What you will study

Students will examine the earth’s rapidly changing landscapes through a dynamic and multidisciplinary Geography degree from Canterbury Christ Church University. Studying Geography at the university will enable them to understand the connections between social and natural sciences while engaging with innovative research.

Guided by the UN’s Sustainability Development Goals, students will explore prominent issues that affect the global population, including climate change, global inequalities, economic development, and human geography. This Geography degree will prepare them for a variety of sectors.

At CCCU, students can get involved with the current research that lecturers undertake. There are multiple projects available, including the reintroduction of bison in Kent, the use of geographical evidence in forensic investigation, and employing invasive mussels as a sustainable method to clean polluted rivers.

In the Geography course, students will increase their confidence in the laboratory by developing a wide range of lab skills that complement their geographical knowledge and field techniques.

Additionally, students will explore new landscapes and immerse themselves in local cultures through a variety of field trips. Previous trips have included destinations such as India, Iceland, and Malta.
