What you will study

This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre for the University of Huddersfield followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Huddersfield. In your international foundation year, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.

The International Foundation Year in Business, Management and Law will provide you with the skills and tools necessary to succeed in career fields such as finance, accounting, marketing and law. During your time in the Foundation Year, you will study core subjects, as well as optional subjects intentionally designed for your chosen field of study. All of these skills will be key for future academic success at the University of Huddersfield.

The course is taught by academic experts and industry practitioners and the knowledge you’ll gain can be used to help businesses stand out in a competitive market. This means you’ll be an asset to any organisation in a variety of industries.

The modules in this course are designed to foster a critical understanding of the role and management of digital technologies in contemporary business and marketing settings. You’ll also come to understand how digital developments are changing how businesses operate.

You can also look forward to a high-quality Business and Digital Marketing Management education here, as your teachers rank in the top three in England for the proportion who hold doctorates (HESA 2022) and have expertise in a range of Business and Digital Marketing Management subject areas.

On campus, you’ll study a wide range of subjects, including:

• business analytics • social media marketing • international marketing • digital communications.

Throughout the course, you’ll also take ASPIRE modules, allowing you to work on a real business challenge while preparing you to transition from higher education to the workplace.

Away from campus, you’ll gain relevant real-world experience. After the second year of the course, you’ll put your knowledge and skills to the test in an optional 48-week work placement in your area of interest, in the UK or abroad. This work placement could potentially enhance your employability and foster personal development.

This course will prepare you for a variety of potentially exciting careers in a range of fields in the industry. You could work as a digital marketing manager, social media marketing manager, account manager or even a marketing analyst. You’ll be able to work for other organisations, or even pursue your passions by setting up your own business.
