Overview

This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre for the University of Huddersfield followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Huddersfield. In your international foundation year, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program. The International Foundation Year in Art, Media and Architecture will provide you the skills and tools necessary for success in an undergraduate degree in an array of fields such as design, media, journalism and even fashion design. During your time at the University of Huddersfield, you will study core subjects as well as optional subjects as media campaigns intentionally crafted for your chosen field of study. All of these skills will be key for future academic success at the University of Huddersfield. So much goes into designing and creating a successful costume. You’ll analyse, interpret and make the visual elements of character expression and storytelling through the relationship between costume, the body and movement. We’ll encourage you to take risks and to question and challenge your work.

In your third year, you can also take optional placements out in the world of costume to gain industry experience. At the end of the course you’ll have the opportunity to design and make costumes for a wide range of performances, including theatre, opera, dance and film.

Your final year culminates in a live performance or exhibition showcasing your graduate work.
