Overview
This degree is ideal for those who are seeking an education in music within a broader cultural context that does not require an audition or individual lessons on an instrument or voice. The BA in Music offers flexibility to explore the wide range of courses and subject areas UVic has to offer, while expanding musical knowledge through academic music courses and ensembles. Classical, jazz, rock, pop, singer/songwriter and electronic musicians will find ample opportunities to refine their skills while pursuing this major in a flexible, 4-year degree. The Bachelor of Arts in Music prepares students for further study at the graduate level or for the workforce as a music specialist in administration, media, journalism, event production, and many other careers.
