This unique option provides students with a background to pursue careers or graduate studies in environmentally related geoscience fields, especially in areas related to water resources, contamination and remediation.
Geochemists work at all levels of government agencies or teach at universities or research institutes. Geochemists are also employed by geochemical companies, petroleum and mining companies, and geology, geophysics and engineering consulting firms.
The Environmental Geochemistry program is available as a major, double major, minor or honours option as part of a four-year Bachelor of Science degree. The Faculty of Science is one of the university’s oldest faculties and was established when UNB was founded in 1785.
