Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Criminology and Policing (LN32)
London Metropolitan University - Holloway
What you will study
This London Metropolitan University course explores the fundamentals of criminological theory and examines the institutions at the heart of the criminal justice system including the courts, police, prison and probation services.
This course will bring students to the forefront of the contemporary criminology and policing landscape. London Met's close links with organisations such as the Essex Police and Metropolitan Police allow them to invite practitioners from the criminal justice sector, who will give talks on subjects relevant to study and include content from real cases. London Met also organises a Question Time style panel discussion, where students will get a chance to participate in a debate with a panel of course lecturers, probation officers, ex-offenders and police officers.
London Met's teaching is enriched by contemporary case studies and practical tasks that will provide students with skills to measure and interpret crime, including qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. In the second and third years students will have the opportunity to pursue areas of criminology and policing that interest them the most through a wide range of modules that cover topics including terrorism, victimology and serial offenders.
An International Bright Futures Scholarship in the amount of £3,000 will automatically be applied to eligible students with overseas fee status starting a degree with London Met in the 2024/25 academic year. This scholarship includes a tuition fee reduction for the duration of students' studies and is applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Tuition Deposit is £4,000 for all students excluding those from Punjab and Haryana for whom the deposit amount will remain at 50%
