Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Computer Science (G402)

This course will teach students everything they need for a successful career in IT – from programming and information systems to modules in mobile applications and artificial intelligence. With professional accreditation from the British Computer Society, this career-focused course will equip students with the key skills necessary to succeed in the computing industry. With the chance to gain professional Java certification, students will be taught by experts in the field of IT and technology and will learn everything, from how to create new mobile apps to how to design and implement software systems. As they progress, students will also have the options to specialise in topics such as artificial intelligence and management support systems, ensuring they have the specialist skills to pursue a career in the fields that interest them most. Taught through knowledge-based learning seminars and hands-on workshops. On successful completion of the course, students will have the qualifications and knowledge to enter a wide range of careers linked to computer science. Students will not only have the qualifications required for registration as a Chartered IT Professional (CITP), they will also be entitled to apply for Membership of the British Computer Society (MBCS). Becoming a Member of the British Computer Society entitles students to put the letters MBCS after their name and gain access to networking opportunities, publications and specialist events to aid them in their career development. An International Bright Futures Scholarship in the amount of £3,000 will automatically be applied to eligible students with overseas fee status starting a degree with London Met in the 2024/25 academic year. This scholarship includes a tuition fee reduction for the duration of students' studies and is applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Tuition Deposit is £4,000 for all students excluding those from Punjab and Haryana for whom the deposit amount will remain at 50%
