Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Sport Management with Foundation Year (C621)

Canterbury Christ Church University

What you will study

A foundation year helps students develop the study skills and self-confidence needed for higher education when they do not meet the entry requirements for their chosen subject.

During the foundation year, students will cover academic writing, theoretical and practical skills in the scientific method, and personal and career development to help them progress to Year 1 of the degree.

They will gain knowledge and skills in the core elements of sport management, including business and strategic management, leadership, and policy. Students will also achieve a solid grasp of the wider context of sport management, encompassing community engagement, physical activity and well-being, and culture and society.

In the degree program, students will have the opportunity to work within the consultancy unit, SportsLab, using their expertise to help athletes improve their performance.

For those talented in sport, there is the option to apply for one of the sport scholarships. As Sport Scholars, they would receive a financial bursary, university gym membership, personal training, mentoring, and sports science support.
