Master of Arts - Architectural Design

The MA in Architectural Design is designed for students seeking a comprehensive and stimulating post-graduate program that delves into the intricate connections between design and research. This program shares numerous design components with our esteemed MArch (Master of Architecture/ RIBA Part 2 program), but offers more flexibility in terms of study options, enabling students to explore the research interests of our esteemed faculty.

The curriculum places a strong emphasis on design-focused research techniques and methods to enhance the learning process and research endeavors. By concentrating on how design thinking can address current global challenges, students will enhance their existing design skills. This approach fosters a dynamic and engaging platform for the examination and discourse of design matters. Consequently, we prioritize the utilization of design as a tool for conducting research. Researching through design entails the fusion of the design process with the act of research, enabling them to mutually inform and enrich one another.

Throughout the program, students will tackle problems by formulating and testing design proposals, incorporating established knowledge as needed. Project work will draw upon insights from various disciplines, fostering a multidisciplinary approach.
