Master of Science - Urban Design

The MA Urban Design program is jointly delivered by the Welsh School of Architecture and the School of Geography and Planning. Its objective is to enable practitioners and scholars to revolutionize the field of urban design through the application of critical thinking and creative practice.

Urban design encompasses various professional fields, including architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, and public policy, as well as disciplines like politics, economics, sociology, and cultural studies. The program fully embraces this transdisciplinary approach by offering theory, research training, and design teaching.

Students will have the opportunity to learn from highly accomplished academic staff from both schools, who are actively engaged in Cardiff, nationally in the UK, and internationally across the globe. Additionally, within the design studios, students will benefit from the knowledge and expertise of leading practitioners.
