What you will study
The degree in Professional Policing will teach students the specialist and transferable skills needed to succeed in their future careers. Licensed by the College of Policing, the program will physically, emotionally, and mentally prepare them for a lifelong career in a range of sectors.
With a police degree from CCCU, students will gain the confidence and vital skills necessary to work effectively in difficult and time-pressured situations. Through the university’s modern simulation facilities, which include the Criminal Justice suite, interview rooms, cells, and the Hydra Suite, students can fully immerse themselves in a professional setting.
They will learn to confidently use key databases and software relevant to research and professional knowledge, including the Police National Legal Database. Students will engage critically with academic material and learn through a practical lens, giving them a graduate edge.
This four-year degree includes a built-in foundation year that provides a supportive gateway to higher education. This year will prepare students for degree-level study as they progress into Year 1.
Additionally, the course complies with the Policing Education Qualifications Framework and incorporates the optimized National Policing Curriculum, ensuring that students choose a qualification that reflects a high-quality and progressive curriculum.
This dynamic and innovative degree will prepare graduates for a variety of career pathways, including positions in the civil service, His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services, and the National Crime Agency, among others.
