Bachelor of Science (Honours) - International Tourism and Hospitality Management

Study hospitality and tourism management on an international scale in Canterbury - a UNESCO World Heritage city with a thriving tourism and hospitality industry. With a university degree in hospitality and international tourism from Canterbury, this will enlighten students' studies as they work within such a popular UK destination. On this dynamic, practical course, students will engage with a variety of topics, such as dark tourism, marketing, and sustainability, which will enable them to gain a deep and thorough understanding of the industry. What’s more, students will delve into the ethics of international tourism management, and go on overseas trips during their first and second year. This fully funded module will allow students to explore areas of study that they’ve researched throughout their course, including the impact of tourism, hotel management, and cultural policy. Enhance students' work experience with an internship or voluntary work – the teaching staff are wholly supportive of students undertaking roles that will benefit their studies. Students will also have the opportunity to get involved with the Tourism and Events Research Hub, which is committed to furthering research in this expanding and ever-evolving sector. Career advice is embedded in the curriculum with the help of Employability and Careers Service. Past students have entered a wide range of roles, both in the public and private sectors, locally, nationally, and internationally. These include: resort manager, tourist officer, destination manager, travel writing, tour manager, regional tourist managers (i.e. Visit Kent), tourism exhibition management, visitor attraction marketing, niche event specialist, and managers of their own businesses.
