Statistics is a branch of Mathematics that includes the study of methods for data collection, analysis, and interpretation, and principles of experimental design. Mathematics and statistics contributes to the formulation and solution of problems in diverse fields such as Medicine, Economics and the Social Sciences. It is also the foundation of the field of Computer Science and the “language” of Science and Engineering.
