Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Real Estate

The Real Estate degree is developed in line with the requirements of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), ensuring it meets the expectations of employers across the public, private, and third sectors. The programme provides students with current and industry-relevant knowledge to support careers in the property sector.

Students gain a comprehensive understanding of real estate, including the processes of ownership, development, occupation, valuation, and management. The course also covers key areas such as economics and finance, property valuation and management, construction, urban planning, and law, equipping students with a broad and integrated skill set.

The programme brings together technological, financial, legal, and managerial perspectives, enabling students to connect theory with practice through real-world case studies. This approach supports a deeper understanding of the complexities of the real estate industry.

An optional professional placement year is available between the second and third years of study, offering valuable experience within the sector. Students are responsible for securing their placement, supported by the university’s careers services and employer networks. Those who successfully obtain a placement can transfer to the placement version of the course.
