What you will study

With a high level of professional exemptions from the accounting bodies ACCA, ICAEW, CIPFA, AIA and IFA, this challenging course will help students become a qualified accountant or start work in a finance-related career. Students will have access to an extensive network of industry contacts to help with optional work experience placements and projects. Through this course, students will develop their academic writing, their independent research skills and their practical skills in business and accounting software such as Microsoft Excel, Sage and Oracle. The programme is delivered through a blend of lectures, seminars, workshops, presentations and plenary sessions. Between them, the staff have accumulated an impressive level of academic and professional experience in public audit, taxation, financial and management accounting, and information systems. Occasionally, distinguished external speakers are invited to make presentations on contemporary accounting, finance and business-related issues.

London Metropolitan University places particular emphasis on employability, and the lecturers, who have a wide network of industry contacts, can help students with optional work experience placements and projects. On completion of this course, students will receive full exemption from all of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)’s fundamental exam papers. An International Bright Futures Scholarship in the amount of £3,000 will automatically be applied to eligible students with overseas fee status starting a degree with London Met in the 2024/25 academic year. This scholarship includes a tuition fee reduction for the duration of students' studies and is applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Tuition Deposit is £4,000 for all students excluding those from Punjab and Haryana for whom the deposit amount will remain at 50%
