Master of Science - Sustainable Engineering and Clean Energy with Advanced Practice (September Intake)
Teesside University
What you will study
Students will cover a number of topics in sustainability, broadening and deepening their understanding and knowledge of the field. Students learn how to synthesise information from a variety of sources and develop their decision-making abilities in solving complex sustainability problems. Working with a supervisor, students also conduct a research project in a specific area of sustainable engineering.
This advanced practice route enhances students' qualification by adding a vocational or research-based internship to the course. A vocational internship is a great way to gain work experience and give their CV a competitive edge. A research internship gives students the opportunity to develop their analytical, team-working, research and academic skills by working alongside a research team in an academic setting. Teesside University guarantees a research internship but can’t guarantee a vocational internship. Students will be provided with practical support and advice on how to find and secure their own.
At Teesside University, they undertake varied research in sustainability and are involved in several regional strategic projects. Teesside University is based in the Tees Valley, a hub of the green energy industry, housing bioethanol, hydrogen and offshore wind farms. The region is also a centre for investment in carbon capture and storage, industrial decarbonisation and net zero initiatives, making it an ideal location to study this course.
