A-Level - Geography

Cheshire College South and West - Crewe

What you will study

Geography is the study of Earth’s landscapes, peoples, places and environments and so bridges the social sciences (Human Geography) with the natural sciences (Physical Geography). A Level Geography will enable students to develop an understanding and knowledge of different geographical concepts and processes. It will raise awareness of current issues over the use of resources, the impact and management of hazards, changing urban and physical landscapes, the global interactions and the environmental impact of our globally growing population.

Since 2013, Cheshire College has enjoyed a 100% pass rate and in 2015, 97% of students achieved A*-C in A Level Geography. The Geography department is well resourced and adopts a wide range of teaching styles to promote active learning. Students participate in online learning, discussions, presentations as well as taking lead role in decision making and problem solving exercises.

There is a compulsory residential field trip in March of the first year which costs approximately £200.
