In the final year all students produce an extended research project on a topic of their choice. The core and optional units reflect the wide variety of approaches to legal research adopted by the scholars in the Law School. Please note that the routes to qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales are changing. Based on current information, the changes will likely affect all those commencing their law degrees from September 2021 onwards, if they wish to qualify as a solicitor. The latest information on these changes can be found on the Law School website or on the Solicitors Regulation Authority website. There is currently no indication that the Bar Standards Board (BSB), the body that regulates barristers, will change its academic requirements for qualification as a barrister.
