What you will study
Program Description This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre for the University of Huddersfield followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Huddersfield. In your international foundation year, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program. The International Foundation Year in Art, Media and Architecture will provide you the skills and tools necessary for success in an undergraduate degree in an array of fields such as design, media, journalism and even fashion design. During your time at the University of Huddersfield, you will study core subjects as well as optional subjects as media campaigns intentionally crafted for your chosen field of study. All of these skills will be key for future academic success at the University of Huddersfield. The architecture degree at Huddersfield has a highly distinctive approach to the subject based upon the exploration of places and cultures around the world. You will have the opportunity to explore different cultural regions and design your own innovative, beautiful, humane and sustainable architecture in response.
Huddersfield is a multi-cultural town and the international student population of the University is large and diverse. Architecture in particular attracts applicants from all over the world. This is a real strength of the course, as you will study alongside others from a wide range of cultural and educational backgrounds. The social nature of the course means that you will experience ideas and influences that are as diverse as they are creative. There are two strands to the course, Architecture and Architecture (International). Both will give you an opportunity to explore the complex regional, cultural, ethical and environmental issues that will underpin your development as an architect.
