Integrated Foundation - Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Landscape Architecture

The Landscape Architecture degree with Foundation Year introduces students to the design of external spaces, combining creativity, functionality, and natural systems. The course prepares students to design a wide range of environments, from parks and public spaces to urban landscapes, with a focus on creating inclusive, sustainable, and user-centred designs that enhance the built environment.

Students explore how landscape architects respond to real-world challenges such as improving air quality, managing water resources, reducing carbon impact, and promoting energy efficiency. The course also highlights the important relationship between outdoor spaces, wellbeing, and mental health, encouraging students to contribute to healthier and more sustainable communities.

Throughout the programme, students engage with a variety of design and research processes, working across different scales from small, detailed spaces to larger regional and ecological strategies. The four-year structure includes a Foundation Year, which provides additional Level 3 study to support progression onto the degree. After successful completion, students also have the flexibility to transfer to related undergraduate programmes within the College of Architecture if they wish.
