Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Accounting and Finance

The BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance degree provides a comprehensive introduction to accountancy, commerce, industry, and financial management. The course is designed to develop graduates with a global outlook, equipped with both conceptual understanding and practical knowledge to make informed contributions within the field.

Students explore a broad range of contemporary topics, including the role of accounting and finance in addressing global challenges such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The programme encourages the development of professional judgement and decision-making skills, recognising the importance of both analytical thinking and intuition in financial contexts.

Teaching is delivered through a flexible blend of lectures, workshops, field trips, and online learning, supporting a varied and engaging learning experience. An optional professional placement year is available between the second and third years of study, providing an opportunity to gain valuable industry experience. Students are responsible for securing their placement, supported by the university’s careers services and employer networks. Those who successfully obtain a placement can transfer to the placement version of the course.
