What you will study
The BMus (Hons) degree at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire is designed to help students realise their potential and prepare for careers in the music profession, including performance, composition, and music technology.
The programme develops specialist musical skills alongside theoretical, historical, and practice-based knowledge, while encouraging individual creativity. Graduates are equipped to become independent learners, critical interpreters, and reflective practitioners.
Each student graduates with a named award that reflects their chosen Principal Study area.
During their studies, students are part of a department aligned with their specialism. Departments are organised by instrument and discipline, including Brass; Composition; Historical Performance; Keyboard; Music Technology; Percussion; Strings (bowed and plucked); Vocal and Operatic; and Woodwind.
