2-Semester Pathway - International Year One in Engineering and Computer Science - Continue to Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Computer Science
University of Huddersfield International Study Centre
What you will study
Program Description This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre for the University of Huddersfield followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Huddersfield. In the International Year One program, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.
The International Foundation Year One in Engineering & Computer Science will help you establish subject knowledge and English. This program will also prepare you to join in the second year of your intended undergraduate degree at the University of Huddersfield. With smaller class sizes and additional support to help you develop your academic knowledge. The modules and subjects you study will be akin to the same content you can expect in your chosen undergraduate degree, subjects are dependent on your chosen field of study.
From sending a text to using the cashpoint, every day we all interact with computers in all sorts of different ways. Computing helps us have more fun, get creative and try out new ideas. It enhances our quality of life and aims to meet the challenges that ongoing advances in technology create. This course helps you build up knowledge and the skills that could be invaluable in the computing industry.
We'll look at both the theory and practical side of things to help you develop your abilities, having knowledge of both could make all the difference when you go on to look for employment in this rapidly expanding industry.
Your tutors will encourage you to identify problems, and then work out how to solve them using software. You might get involved in developing software solutions using the latest artificial intelligence (AI). Or perhaps you’ll look at how to use computing applications in engineering or scientific experiments to combat environmental problems.
