Bachelor of Science - Nursing

New York Tech's undergraduate program, accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education will prepare students or a successful career in nursing in hospital facilities, private practices, schools, organizations, and community agencies.

Our faculty, highly experienced professionals with vast educational, clinical, and leadership experience will provide students with clinical learning opportunities across the age span in multiple care settings. They'll also have the opportunity to participate in research with faculty, attend conferences and demonstrate your knowledge at campus health fairs. During clinical phase, students will learn the science supporting decisions related to patient care, techniques, protocols, and treatments as they: • sharpen your critical thinking in our high-tech simulation labs and through case studies with faculty and classmates • participate in interprofessional team based care • work with classmates and other students from the School of Health Professions and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine to participate in interdisciplinary team based patient care During the program’s clinical phase, you’ll work in clinical rotations in our affiliated network of private health care institutions, major New York area hospitals, ambulatory community clinics and extended care facilities. Upon earning your degree, you’ll be qualified to take the National Council of State Boards of Nursing NCLEX-RN licensing exam.

Acceptance into Nursing Courses Once a student believes they have completed all the required prerequisite courses, the student will need to apply to be accepted into nursing courses. All applications to be accepted into nursing courses must be received by October 1 to start nursing classes in the spring, and April 1 to start nursing courses in the fall.
