What you will study
The BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering degree is designed for those interested in innovation, design, and problem-solving, offering pathways in applied Automotive and applied Manufacturing engineering.
The course takes a practical, industry-focused approach to learning, with no traditional lectures or exams. Instead, students engage in hands-on, project-based activities that address real-world engineering challenges across sectors such as automotive and transport, manufacturing, technology, energy, and construction.
Developed in collaboration with industry, the programme ensures that graduates gain both core technical knowledge and key employability skills, including communication, leadership, and teamwork, preparing them for professional engineering roles.
The first year provides a broad foundation in engineering principles, introducing students to different disciplines and supporting them in selecting a pathway for further study in later years.
