Overview
This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre for the University of Strathclyde followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Strathclyde. In the international foundation year, students will study courses related to their intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance their skills as a student. Advancement into students' intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.
The International Foundation Year in Business & Social Sciences will familiarize students with a wide area of study. They will develop their critical thinking skills, creativity, analytical and team working skills, providing them with the most crucial skills required as a successful graduate.
There’s a strong emphasis on statistical techniques in data analysis and on the use of mathematical models.
Employers in the financial sector look for graduates who have experience using mathematical models, as well as a financial or accounting background. This course provides a good basis for entering the actuarial profession.
