What you will study
This MA in Film Distribution and Marketing is a one-year intensive full-time program designed in collaboration with industry professionals to address the growing demand for entrepreneurial producers, marketers, and distribution specialists.
Graduates of the course have gone on to secure roles with companies such as Koch Media (Germany), Kaleidoscope Films (UK), GFM Films (UK), and Red Arrow Media (Europe). The program also offers opportunities for work placements, with previous students gaining experience at major industry organizations including FilmNation (US) and Sony Pictures Classics (US).
The course is delivered by an industry-experienced teaching team, including Oscar-nominated producer Lee Thomas and film expert Eugenio Triana. It focuses on developing strategic skills to navigate evolving models of film financing, marketing, and audience engagement within a fast-changing global entertainment landscape.
Students explore both traditional and emerging business models across all stages of the film development cycle. The curriculum incorporates advances in technology, digital communication channels, and new opportunities for content monetization beyond traditional cinema platforms.
Throughout the program, students receive intensive guidance from industry professionals and mentors while creating and implementing strategies related to project development, pitching, financing, and distribution and marketing campaigns.
In addition, students work on real film projects spanning a range of budgets and styles—from niche arthouse productions to commercially driven genres—covering every stage of the film lifecycle. Previous collaborations have included companies such as New Yorker Films, New Wave Films, Kaleidoscope Films, and the Taiwan Film Institute.
