Postgraduate Certificate in Education - PGCE Secondary English with Drama
London Metropolitan University - Holloway
What you will study
This Secondary English with Drama course will train students to teach 11 to 16-year-olds and, by arrangement, can also give students additional experience in the post-16 age group. It is run collaboratively with the English and Media Centre (EMC), an award-winning educational charity. EMC tutors will provide students with support throughout the course, drawing on their extensive experience of consultancy for schools and running Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for teachers.
Students will also have a dedicated drama specialist tutor, who will support their development as a school practitioner, adept at working within the many varied contexts offered in the world of drama in education.
Through study, discussion and teaching, students will develop an understanding of how children learn and the methods they can use to help them develop effective English and drama skills.
An International Bright Futures Scholarship in the amount of £3,000 will automatically be applied to eligible students with overseas fee status starting a degree with London Met in the 2024/25 academic year. This scholarship includes a tuition fee reduction for the duration of students' studies and is applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Tuition Deposit is £4,000 for all students excluding those from Punjab and Haryana for whom the deposit amount will remain at 50%
