2-Semester Pathway - International Foundation Year - Health Science - Transfer to Bachelor of Science - Sport Exercise and Nutrition

Program Description This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre for the University of Huddersfield followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Huddersfield. In your international foundation year, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon successful completion of the pathway program.

The International Foundation Year in Health and Human Sciences will provide you with the skills and tools necessary to succeed in career fields such as sports science, podiatry, physiotherapy, pharmaceutical science. During your time in the Foundation Year, you will study core subjects, as well as optional subjects intentionally designed for your chosen field of study. These subjects will also prepare you for a career in psychology, behavioural sciences, sociology and criminology. All of these skills will be key for future academic success at the University of Huddersfield.

Eating healthily and being physically active are important for wellbeing, and good nutrition can help to achieve optimal performance in sport. Nutrition is increasingly important in elite sport, personal training, and community-based initiatives, so this course could lead to an exciting and rewarding career.

This course could give you the skills to work as a sports nutritionist, physical activity coordinator, health advisor, sports development officer, personal trainer, exercise referral specialist, or after further training, a teacher in educational settings.
