Overview

The Geoscience MRes program offers students the chance to contribute to impactful research in earth sciences and acquire the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge for a successful career as a geoscientist.

Students are encouraged to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams within the field of geosciences, working across disciplines such as ecology, geography, and engineering. They have the opportunity to focus on areas of earth sciences that align with their interests, including igneous petrology, geochemistry, mineral deposits, marine geology, tectonic geomorphology, dryland geomorphology, remote sensing, hydrogeology, and hydrochemistry.

Utilizing specialized facilities, students will conduct their research projects under the guidance of an academic expert in their chosen field. They will have access to resources within the Centre for Aquatic Environments and Centre for Earth Observation Science, as well as research and enterprise groups in Applied Geosciences and Past Human and Environment Dynamics. Additionally, students will benefit from collaborations with international organizations and universities.
