The Certificate in Hispanic Studies at Bishop’s University builds on a long-standing tradition of Spanish instruction that began in 1982. Over the years, the curriculum has continually expanded to offer a comprehensive program of study. All courses within the certificate are taught in Spanish and encompass the areas of language, civilization and culture, linguistics, and literature. Third-year courses focusing on Spain and Spanish America are offered on an alternating year-to-year basis, allowing students to gain a well-rounded understanding of the Spanish-speaking world.
