Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Global Philosophies & Worldviews and Creative Writing (GW13)

Liverpool Hope University - Hope Park

What you will study

Liverpool is a gateway to the world. This city is home to the oldest Chinatown in Europe, its links with West Africa and the Americas were forged in the dark days of the transatlantic slave trade, and over one-and -a-half million Irish people passed through its port during the ‘Great Hunger’ of the 1845-52 Potato Famine. Each of the communities that have passed through this city brought with them their own ways of understanding the world their worldviews.

Creative Writing at Liverpool Hope will give students the chance to experience the joys of crafting the written word. The degree focuses on developing them as a writer of poetry and prose (fiction and creative non-fiction), across the broad field of literature (poems, short stories, novels, reflective and critical essays). Professional writing - reviews, blogs and articles for different kinds of media - is also studied. Our focus on creativity and employability means they will be able to produce engaging, innovative and marketable texts.
