Overview
The research degree offered at the University of Nottingham is tailored to the individual student, allowing them to select their own area of interest to study under a title of their choosing.
The Ecology and Evolutionary Biology grouping at the university offers a variety of PhD and MRes courses, including Animal Behavior, Conservation Biology, Evolutionary Biology, Ecology, and Evolutionary Ecology.
The supervisors within the school are leaders in their respective fields of research. With access to industry-standard facilities, state-of-the-art equipment, and the guidance of these supervisors, students can make significant advancements in their chosen area of life sciences.
While the degree and research area are personalized to each student, supervisors can provide projects in various areas of ecology and evolutionary biology. These projects may include studying fish evolution and parasitology, snail genetics and evolution, the adaptation of spider silk for new materials, animal mimicry, and other topics that contribute to our understanding of the diversity of life and its evolution.
