Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Fashion Communication

The BA (Hons) Fashion Communication degree is designed to develop students into versatile visual communicators within the fashion industry. The course combines a range of creative disciplines, including art direction, styling, graphic design, film, animation, photography, journalism, events, and trend forecasting.

Students learn to create and communicate fashion narratives across multiple platforms, developing skills in branding, styling, writing, image-making, and creative direction. The programme encourages an interdisciplinary approach, enabling students to engage with both physical and digital spaces, including emerging areas such as the metaverse.

The course focuses on building strong craft skills and creative storytelling abilities, preparing students to contribute to contemporary fashion communication while responding to ongoing changes within the industry. Alongside digital innovation, students maintain a solid grounding in traditional practices such as print design and live events.

An optional professional placement year is available between the second and third years of study, offering valuable industry experience. Students are responsible for securing their placement, supported by the university’s careers services and employer networks. Those who successfully obtain a placement can transfer to the placement version of the course.

The programme equips graduates with the creative, technical, and professional skills required to pursue careers within fashion communication and related creative industries.
