The BA (Hons) Education Studies degree explores the role of education in shaping individuals and society, examining both theoretical and practical aspects of learning across the lifespan, from early childhood through to lifelong education.

The course encourages students to critically engage with the aims, values, and policies of education systems in the UK and internationally. Drawing on a multidisciplinary approach, it incorporates perspectives from psychology, sociology, law, history, philosophy, and politics to explore key issues and debates within education.

Central themes of the programme include the role of education in promoting social justice, equity, and inclusion; the impact of globalisation on education systems; and the influence of technological change on teaching and learning. This broad approach supports a comprehensive understanding of the evolving educational landscape.

Students also complete a practical placement during the second year, providing valuable experience within an educational setting and supporting the development of key employability skills.
