Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) - Business Studies - Logistics and Operations Management (4-year)

Logistics and Operations Management is a specialised research area within the Business Studies PhD programme, focusing on advancing knowledge and practice in supply chains, logistics systems, and operational processes. The research is conducted within an interdisciplinary environment that brings together expertise from several dedicated research groups, including the Lean Enterprise Research Centre, the Logistics Systems Dynamics Group, the Centre for Automotive Industry Research, and the Transport and Shipping Research Group.

The programme has a strong reputation for high-quality research in areas such as supply chain management, logistics modelling and simulation, transport and shipping, and sustainability. It combines theoretical development with practical application, enabling students to explore complex operational challenges across a range of industries and sectors.

Applicants who are unable to demonstrate prior comprehensive research training will be admitted to our 4-year PhD programme in Business and Management and will undertake up to a year of dedicated research training, followed by three years focused on the research phase of their PhD.
