Integrated Foundation - Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Interior Architecture and Design

The Interior Architecture and Design degree with Foundation Year focuses on the relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit, exploring how thoughtfully designed environments can support wellbeing, growth, and everyday experiences. The course develops an understanding of how interior spaces function and how they can be shaped through creative, technical, and socially responsive design approaches.

Throughout the programme, students gain the skills to design and transform interior environments while engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including users, clients, communities, and industry professionals. The inclusion of “Architecture” in the course reflects its emphasis on building analysis, material specification, environmental awareness, spatial design, regulatory knowledge, and social responsibility, alongside core creative practice.

The course also supports the development of professional skills such as communication, confidence, and resilience, with opportunities to engage in live projects and real-world contexts. A strong focus on employability and industry engagement helps prepare graduates for diverse career pathways, including architecture, spatial and interior design, planning, project management, and further study.

Delivered over four years, the programme includes a Foundation Year that provides additional Level 3 study to support progression onto the full degree. After successful completion, students also have the flexibility to transfer to related undergraduate courses if they wish.
