What you will study
The BA (Hons) Human Resource Management degree is designed to develop the knowledge and skills required to manage and support high-performing workforces in modern organisations. The course explores key aspects of people management, enabling students to build both theoretical understanding and practical competence in areas such as recruitment, development, performance management, and employee relations.
The programme reflects the evolving nature of the HR profession, incorporating contemporary practices and emerging technologies. Students have opportunities to engage with digital and immersive tools, including applications of virtual reality, in areas such as people analytics, recruitment and selection, training, onboarding, and performance management.

A strong emphasis is placed on employability, with opportunities for both short-term and extended placements in the UK and internationally.
An optional professional placement year is available between the second and third years of study, providing valuable industry experience. Students are responsible for securing their placement, supported by the university’s careers services and employer networks. Those who successfully obtain a placement can transfer to the placement version of the course.
The programme equips graduates with the professional knowledge, practical skills, and industry awareness required for careers in human resource management and related areas.
